Little.
Reading Recovery provides 30 minutes of one-on-one reading and writing
instruction for 1st grade students. Begining on August 20th, we will start
evaluating 1st grade students for our program. Twelve students will then
begin one-on-one instruction for the next 20 weeks.
During the afternoon, we will have Literacy Group instruction for
Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Literacy Groups consist of 4 to 5 students
meeting for 30 minutes to work on reading and writing skills.

Homework
It is very important for your child to read to you every night.
Your child will bring home a book in a book bag every night. The book and bag
needs to be sent back to school the next day, so he can bring a new book home.
After the first two weeks, your child will also bring home a cut-up sentence,
glue stick, and journal. They need to glue the sentence into the journal and
bring it back to school the next morning. The cut-up sentence is an
excellent tool for children to put reading and writing skills together.
