The Lady Apache Softball team has been coached for the past 10 years by Matt Lee and will now be coached by Greg Jones.

History Of The Team

 "I came to Pottsville in the fall of 1999 and we played Fast Pitch in the spring of 2000 in Arkansas. There were not very many schools that played Fast Pitch so our district tournament was in Pine Bluff and we were beat out of the tournament by Pulaski Robinson. The following year, we won the conference when we were an AA school and advanced to the Final Four of the State Tournament where we were beaten out in that game. We have been very successful in softball here at Pottsville.

We have had one losing season over the years. We have won several conference championships and have made the state playoffs every year except one. We were the State Runner Up in 2007, and we made it to the Final Four again in the spring of 2010.

Greg Jones has taken over now and I know he will do a tremendous job of keeping the winning tradition going. I have a lot of respect for him, and he is very well respected around the state. He will do an outstanding job."

Coach Jones' Biography

Coach Jones graduated from Morrilton High School in 1992. After that, he attended UCA from which he graduated in 1997. While attending UCA, he played four years of college football and baseball. He has a wife, Heather, and three children, Ben, Belle, and Scarlet. In 2007, he went to Dardanelle and coached football and fast-pitch softball until 2010. He is at Pottsville now coaching football and softball. We all know he will do a fantastic job!
